March Products of the Month

Ladies
WHAT?
Smashbox Emulsion Lip Exfoliant
FOR WHO?
Sufferers of dry, cracked, flakey, post winter lips and anyone who wants to prevent such a catastrophe.
This is an age preventative and can help you avoid those tiny, fine lines that can cause color to run away from your lips.
HOW/WHEN TO USE?
How often will depend on your level of sensitivity and amount of concern. You should exfoliate as often as possible but let your skin sensitivity guide you (don't aggravate your lips). If you suffer from extreme dry, flakey, cracked lips you may need to use it once per day for the first week. If you're not as dry then just every other day the first week. If you're tolerable for using it every other day after that go for it. If not just as often as you can.
The drier the application the better but you may feel it a little more - take a pea sized drop and rub in tiny circles across the surface of your lip. As you rub it will become rougher and drier. If it feels too rough you can splash a little water on. Convenient to keep in shower and use.
BENEFITS/WHY?
This is a preventative as well as a treatment and will help you have plumper, more moist lips.
WHERE?
You know I always tell you to hit up Nordstrom at Barton Creek and see my girl Felicia. You can also find it at most other department stores or places like Sephora.
HOW MUCH?
This is a cheap one - $18 for .75 .oz
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
4-6 months if used properly maybe a little more at the beginning but less for maintenance

Helps reverse signs of aging and tiredness like puffy eyes, dark circles, and crow’s feet. Like most of my picks this too is a preventative.
HOW/WHEN TO APPLY?
Recommended morning and night applications but once a day is better than none.
Take a pea size drop between your 2 ring fingers and pat lightly in a circle around the circumference of the eye.
WHERE?
Wamart, CVS, Walgreen’s or any local drug store.
HOW MUCH?
.5 oz $8.99 - $10.99
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
This should last 4-6 months so less than $.10 per day - well worth it!

What? Fluidline Gel Eyeliner by MAC 'Blacktrack' (comes in various shades - Blitz and Glitz is a good shade to keep around for the holidays)
For Who? EVERYONE- It can be used for ALL looks. Natural, Dramatic, Glam, Timeless.
Benefits/Why? It can make your eye color stand out especially for you blue and greeners. Applying this along the roots of your lashline from underneath and slightly along the top can produce a fuller lashline accentuating your eyes, and therefore, natural beauty. All about the lashes!
How/When to Apply? It can be worn either day or night. If you want to wear it all day, just start with a light application in the morning and touch up for a quick evening transition later. Use the #209($17.50) or the #266($19.50) Dip and stroke. Self explanatory but easily said by an artist. ;) I can teach you how to do this if you need further instruction.

Skin Care
What? HELP ME Pore Refiner -by Philosophy
For Who?
• Sufferers of large or clogged pores
• Sufferers of skin discoloration due to sun damage, etc.
• Sufferers of fine lines and wrinkles
• OR if you're into Age Prevention and want a product with Vitamin A that doesn't peel and something way more gentle than Retin-A (I'm talking to all of you that have sensitive skin). You might find that you can use this product, but always try it out first-patch test!
Benefits/Why? closes your pores VERY FAST-you'll see them disappear at time of application. This is also an age preventative product that will give your pores a deep cleansing and reduce fine lines.
How/When to Apply? This product can be applied to your problem pore areas - cheeks, chin, forehead, etc. You can also apply it all over your face as an age preventative. On the tube it says to apply at night. That DOESN'T mean you can't do what I do and wear it during the day. That said, since it is Retinol, it will make your skin photosensitive. So if you do have sensitive skin I would stick with just night applications. But if you find you are not sensitive and promise to follow with a moisturizer with SPF of at least 25, you'll be fine. I prefer to wear it during the day because I see my pores diminish IMMEDIATELY! What's cool is it's a treatment.....not only is it a quick temporary fix for makeup application but it treats your pores as well so over time they will refine.
(Tip-prior to your makeup application but after your moisturizer, apply your Smashbox Primer-this still makes a wonderful canvas and adhesive for your application.)
Where? You know I always tell you to hit up Nordstrom at Barton Creek! Shout out to Felicia @ Smashbox! She introduced this WONDERFUL product to me that I didn't know I was looking for until I found it! You can also find it in other department stores that carry Philosophy (most), and Sephora.
How much? .75 oz - $38, 1 oz. - $45
How long will it last? If used in certain small areas, probably up to a year minimum. If used on the whole face every night it should last you at least 4 months.

If any of you have used Philosophy's products before you know that each one comes with it's own philosophy. “Help Me's” philosophy is-”help me so that I may help others” Love it!

November News

November Makeup Product of the Month

What?
Smashbox Photofinish Primer
For Who? Makeup wearers who suffer from open pores, fine lines, or wrinkles and find that their makeup settles in certain areas, OR anyone who wants a beautiful, long lasting makeup application.
Benefits? It’s anti-aging with green tea, grape seed, and most importantly SPF 15. What better 3 anti-aging ingredients could you ask for in one package? It also creates a smooth palette for application or just smooth perfect skin if worn alone.
How/When to Apply? 1 to 2 pumps starting in your T-Zone mainly then spread out evenly throughout the face, neck, and decolletage. Every morning after your moisturizer but before your makeup.
Where? Nordstrom or other Department stores, Sephora, Ulta. If you’re in Austin go to Barton Creek Nordstrom and ask for Felicia, Jayme, or Dawn...tell them I sent you.
How much? $42
How long will it last? Months!! I use 1 1/2 pumps to cover the face comfortably. Others use just half a pump and some use 2 full pumps. Depending on where you fall in that range it should last you at least 4 full months! You’ll know how much you need on your face after the first try.
Why? You'll see why when you try it. I'm confident in that. Go by Nordstrom and ask for a sample. I also give out samples at in-home consults.

November Skin Care Product of the Month

What? Kiehl's Line Reducing Eye Brightening Concentrate
For Who? Anyone interested in age prevention (that means everyone :)), and also anyone who suffers from fine lines/wrinkles, puffiness, and/or dark circles.
Benefits? 10.5% pure vitamin C and Haloxyl! Honestly I don't really know what Haloxyl is but if you suffer from dark circles, Haloxyl is sure to help with that. Pure vitamin C has been proven to drastically hep the skin in many ways from improving texture, to anti-aging, to reducing puffiness and dark circles. It is rare to come across a product with pure vitamin C that can be used directly on the skin daily, but Kiehl's has formulated this in a way that is safe to use daily and delivers high concentrate for great results.
How/When to Apply? First - I do encourage everyone to do a patch test on the inside of the wrist to check for sensitivity to this highly concentrated cream before straight application on the eye area. If no reaction then apply every morning and evening by lightly patting with your middle finger starting on the orbital, out toward the temple circling back around on top of the brow, and circling back down the bridge of the nose. The point is no pulling or tugging at the skin. It's as thin as a rose petal in the eye area...literally. It also calls for application on the actual lid, but be careful as this can be a more sensitive. Over time with routines of taking off eye makeup or rubbing, you can create lines much faster so always be gentle. You'll also always apply your eye products first, before any serums and/or moisturizers.
Where? Nordstrom or other Department stores, Sephora. If you’re in Austin go to Barton Creek Nordstrom and ask for Jayme, the Kiehl's manager (she's great!) and tell her I sent you.
How much? $40
How long will it last? If used twice a day this should last you 3-5 months. That's 3 bottles per year - a great investment! It does vary by applicant slightly so if you're more dry in the eye area you would be on the higher end.

October News

October Make Up Product of the Month

For Who? Sufferers of long straight lashes that don’t hold curls and have trouble with under-eye smearing throughout the day. Anyone that wants a perfectly curled lash that actually lasts ALL day long - literally!
What? “Colossal” Waterproof Mascara by Maybelline
Why? It’s waterproof so your lash curls will be sure to hold up. It also does not dry out as quickly as most waterproof mascaras which means no flaking and black spots on your face.
Where? Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, or any local drug store
How much? $8
How to remove? with this being a waterproof product it obviously isn’t as easy to take off with face wash and water. You’ll need an “eye-makeup” remover which is available at all drug stores or if you’re like me...baby oil and flat cotton pads will do the trick. An oil based remover is the key. MAC wipes are also great to remove makeup and are available in 45 or 100 packs at MAC stores or department stores.
This product was recently featured on Good Morning America and personally I just love it!
